I agree that the "pay per click" feeling is the biggest downside to the current pricing structure. Your phone service analogy is a good one. Scribe probably needs an "all you can eat" buffet price, but I'm not sure they will be willing to take the risk of offering something like that. We'll have to wait and see.

P.S. I wish you had the "subscribe to comments" plugin installed so I could tell when there have been replies to this post.

I liked your blade runner analogy - I'm a big fan of the film (and a little bit in love with Rachael!)

I guess you're the target market for Scribe - a skilled writer, but not a 'pro' user -- someone who wants reassurance about the SEO quality of their posts. 30 cents a review seems like a fairly steep price to me because as a pro user it doesn't tell me a lot I don't know but even as a pro I'd probably pay between $50 a month for unlimited reports without blinking an eye -- it's a good product and it's good to have someone to double-check your work. Heck, I might even consider paying $100, if I find myself using it after the first month.

But I can't get over the "pay per click" feeling Scribe has at the minute.

I guess it's a bit like paying more per month for 1000 free minutes on my phone's carrier plan. It'd probably work out cheaper for me to go on a lower tariff, but psychologically I like the thought that I've more or less got "unlimited" minutes per month that I'll never go over. I could see myself going over 300 reports very quickly. I've got about 50 landing pages to write this week alone!

I'll be subscribing to Scribe this month, because I've got some serious SEO-critical work to do. I'll let you know if I'm still using it next month...

Hi, Alastaire. Glad you liked my review. I'm not a professional copywriter, but like you I'm on the fence with Scribe. I like it, but I don't necessarily love it. And I'm still waiting to see if they revise their pricing structure.
